Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Nov 04, 2011 11:34 am Hi guys I'm new to this forum and need some help. It could be a long one but here goes: I phoned Carpet Court and asked for a price on the quickstep Eligna laminate. (I had done my research and decided its what I wanted). The guy arranged to come out and do an in home quote and bring the colour sample (nat varnished oak). He phoned on the day that he couldnt make it, so it was arranged for another day. This time the owner of the business came out. He brought with him a sample of the nat varnished oak, measured up and quoted. On the quote it stated Nat varnished oak 8mm. (I had assumed this was the quickstep, I had never seen a full board so why would I think it was anything different) The next day I phoned and spoke to the guy I originally had contact with and verified that it was Quickstep Eligna. The day of installation came and near the end of the installation I spotted the boxed out in the guys van and it had Carpet Courts logo all over it and AC3 (I know that quickstep is AC4). I phoned the owner and he went straight into salesman talk, telling me how good it is and that it has so many year warranty blah, blah, blah. So it was left at that. What I want to know is does anyone know anything about the Carpet Courts own brand of laminate. He tried telling me I have a "premium" grade or something. This laminate has LOTS of knots in the pattern, does the quickstep Eligna nat varnished oak have this? I am really struggling to like it What should I do? I am so peeved that I am in this situation! I saved my money, did my research only to have the guy just assume that I would be ok with him doing a switcheroo on me. Do I even have a leg to stand on since Quickstep was not specified on the invoice I am quite shy and dont have the "balls" to say what I really think, bu if I have some more info it would be handy, this guys is a smooth talker. Sorry about the long post thanks in advance Re: Carpet Court Laminate 2Nov 16, 2011 8:36 pm Was it Province? Court has the Quickstep Laminate which comes from the biggest & best manufacturer of Laminate flooring in the world. Contact Premium Floors & they should be able to clear up any issues you have with Laminate as they are the guys who bring Quickstep into Australia. They are now owned by Quickstep so will be able to identify their products. Just google them & go from there. As for a leg to stand on, knowing the guys from Carpet Court Australasia, if a switcharoo has happened & you were not informed then it will be frowned upon. Try Premium Floors 1st & go from there. Stuart Budge & Kendall Waller are 2 of the top guys @ Premium Floors in Melbourne & who know pretty much everything there is to know about timber, laminate, cork & parquetry flooring. You can pm me if you wanted after you ask a few questions & I might be able to help further. Re: Carpet Court Laminate 3Nov 18, 2011 5:35 pm I wasn't game to reply to this post! I ask for Natural Varnish Oak and they installed Natural oak in Riveria Brand, Now they are not answering my calls, I sent them an email which never responded by and my letter was returned to Sender. I went through Consumer Affairs, they said I have the right for a case and they also sent out a letter and it was returned So Frustrated, Don't know if I can take them to Court now, so upset Re: Carpet Court Laminate 6Oct 12, 2012 6:15 pm I really feel for you, there was nothing I could do so now I just learnt to live with my floors. They have grown on me, but I've had issues with water making them bubble. Keep on their backs if you have it written on the invoice the floor you wanted them you certainly have a case. I would never recommend anyone use them. Good luck I've filled, levelled and compacted around 100mm of roadbase in preparation to lay some outdoor court tiles.
