Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering Re: Squeaking and Loosing floor board 4Sep 06, 2011 12:23 pm diabex I Bought a townhouse last year (2010), and the townhouse was built in 2008. Recently, I found that the floorboard at the upstair level is very squeaky and loose, also the stair is a bit squeaky as well. Just wonder if the builders warranty cover that or I have to pay for the repair myself. Also there is owners corp within the blocks of townhouse, so just wondering if the owners corp insurance covers that if not covered by builders warranty. P.S. I am in Victoria If you have bare boards you could try talcum powder - brush in and then wipe off extra with a damp cloth, suppose to help stop the squeak but wouldn't do anything for being loose Thanks for clarifying.
