Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Aug 05, 2011 2:25 pm Hi, I'm considering replacing my horrible old sheet vinyl and some carpet areas with vinyl planks. I have been to all the local flooring shops and cannot make a decision on a colour! So I am looking for some inspiration. If anyone has vinyl planks in their house I would really appreciate seeing some pics! Thanks Re: Anyone got pics of vinyl planks? 2Aug 05, 2011 2:55 pm here are some threads mentioning vinyl planks, search.php?keywords=vinyl+planks&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=all&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search miss used vinyl planks in her home and put pics up..they looked great, will try and find her thread Re: Anyone got pics of vinyl planks? 3Aug 05, 2011 2:59 pm viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36986&start=340 here it is. she used vinyl through her whole house this will take you to the pics Re: Anyone got pics of vinyl planks? 4Aug 06, 2011 6:57 pm I have been laying these in retirement villages for BGC the last few weeks. http://imageshack.us/g/30/038gfm.jpg/ Re: Anyone got pics of vinyl planks? 5Aug 07, 2011 1:56 pm neorayez I have been laying these in retirement villages for BGC the last few weeks. http://imageshack.us/g/30/038gfm.jpg/ Any idea of price ? Thickness? Et cetera They look quite good, the ones I've found have a 3mm thick top-layer, and they work out to approximately $25sq/m including glue. I cannot recall if that includes delivery. Re: Anyone got pics of vinyl planks? 6Aug 08, 2011 10:35 pm Off the top of my head im pretty sure they are 5mm thick, 2mm being the wear layer, and 3mm backing. I couldn't tell you how much they are, but they are Karndean van gough planks, pretty good quality. If you can get them for $25 a sqm laid, i would say that's a pretty good price. Be careful tho, floor prep would almost certainly not be included in that price. To lay these planks, i sand the floor than apply a feather coat, than lightly sand again, before laying. Floor prep is essential with planks. Hope this helps Re: Anyone got pics of vinyl planks? 7Aug 09, 2011 8:00 am $25/sqm is not laid. That is purely materials + delivery. Laying will cost more, I need to find a good layer in Melbourne at some point I will have approx 100sqm of vinyl planks. The seller claims its quality Korean vinyl planks, not Chinese. But I have no way of confirming his claims. It looks good and seems fairly scratch-proof. They do have a 3mm wear layer rather than the 1.5mm wear layer on the cheaper ones...
