We have a Californian bungalow which is partially renovated. Through most of the house we have timber floors which I think are Brush Box (a reddish timber). We have built another room out the back and are planning on using second hand timber to lay floors.
We are wondering about using Baltic in the new part. It comes close to the Box floor, but does not butt directly onto it as there is french doors between.(which are Cedar) Does anyone have 2 different timbers in a house and does it look ok? I know that Baltic is softer, but is that a problem? and does anyone who has Baltic ever get sick of the 'yellow' look?
