Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jul 05, 2011 7:00 pm Builders that include tiles in the package have their base or standard range. We are building with Wisdom homes and want to try and stick to the standard range when it comes to the floor tiling. Can anyone share some photos of their "standard" range of tiles, our tiles in our standard range are the "yellow" dot ones at di lorenzo.... We do love spotted gum flooring but the extra dollers we just do not have. Thanks... Re: Standard Range of Builders Tiles 2Jul 06, 2011 3:21 pm Hi Lot 927 Good luck with trying to stick with the standard range. We went out to Di Lorenzo before signing up and just assumed everything with a yellow dot was standard. How wrong could we be. Everything attracts additional costs if it the size exceeds 200 x 200 even if it is in the builders range. For example, we chose a yellow dot builders range tile 300 x 600 tile for one bathrooom and there are additional charges for installation. We chose another plain white yellow dot tile 300 x 600 and again, additional charges. We chose a 300 x 600 floor rectified floor tile, again additional lay charges, grout matching charges and 1.5mm grout charges. ALso there is additional charges to lay this in wet areas. Overall we will be spending about $11k on tiles. My advice would to visit several times before your appointment, choose your tile and get some idea of costings before your tile appointment. Also ask them for a list of labour charges. Your appointment is only for one hour and you really need to have a grasp on exactly what you want and ensure it roughly fits your budget before your appointment Make sure you check out carpets, floor boards too PM me if you want to know anything else. I have some pics and are happy to email them to you... Hope this helps. Re: Standard Range of Builders Tiles 3Jul 06, 2011 3:23 pm Oh yeh, I asked Di Lorenzo what percentage of people stick with the standard range and its 50% so it is possible to do.
