Re: Timber floating boards in Kitchen 4Jan 20, 2008 5:41 pm rowan Hi Mark Thanks for your response. So floating floorboards shouldn't be a problem but if I decide to have solid floorboards is it absolutely necessary to raise them ? Cheers Rowan The main reason to raise them is to allow adequate space for the dishwasher. Otherwise you would have to install the dishwasher, then install the floor, but then you'd never be able to get your dishwasher out. Re: Timber floating boards in Kitchen 5Jan 20, 2008 8:12 pm I did my kitchen with 1000mm high benchtops which apparently is becoming more popular over the traditional 900mm - washing up is so much better not having to bend into the sink ( of course the dishwasher doing it is still better) Re: Timber floating boards in Kitchen 6Feb 18, 2008 4:56 pm Quote: The main reason to raise them is to allow adequate space for the dishwasher. Steve ps Good dishwasher use less water too - 4 6008 Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors. But I'm not sure… 3 6112 I'm about to put down some Merbau. Is it necessary to oil underneath the boards before laying? 0 1921 |
