Do they sound like you're walking on vinyl? Do they at least sound a little like solid timber? Love that they're not cold I'm freezing up here in Central QLD and I'm moving to the Hunter. Nuts!
My vinyl planks are not wooden at all..... perhaps im talking a different product. They are solid cause stuck straight to slab Oh my 21 month old son decided to accidently smash a 1982 bottle of port on them the other day and no stains at all and no scratches from the glass Re: vinyl planks? 23Jun 15, 2011 2:36 pm LeanneR
Has anyone got them in wet areas and can tell us how they go? At least all the vinyl planks I've found look like wood Re: vinyl planks? 24Jun 16, 2011 11:27 am Oh so your talking laminate basically. Ok mine are totally different no wood. If you go into carpet court and ask to see vinyl planks you can see them. They are slightly flexible and not stuck to wood. We were going to get laminate but it was in our rental and its echoey, scratches, can see footprints galore (wasnt glossy ones), and if you dropped anything was really loud. We found too many pros in these vinyl planks that we had to have them How well do they wear? 25Jun 16, 2011 5:08 pm I'd love to get vinyl planks as I want the look of real wood but something a bit warmer, softer and quieter underfoot that will work in wet areas as well, however after some research have discovered that they can discolour if placed in areas with direct sunlight. The main area I want to put them in gets loads of bright natural sunlight (lots of west/north facing windows and glass full length doors) so am a bit peeved. I have no intention of keeping the blinds down to prevent this from happening! Has anyone experienced this type of discolouration with vinyl planks? Re: vinyl planks? 26Jun 16, 2011 5:16 pm I was told the same, sun does fade vinyl planks.I am having verandas so no problems. Re: vinyl planks? 27Jun 19, 2011 8:14 pm Then in the new house we are getting the vinyl planks from Andersens and it is their own brand - Eziplanks and the one we are getting is EziPlank EZ52 - this hasn't gone in yet so don't have any pics to share.
Hi just wondering if you remember or know how much per square metre the Eziplanks were? Cheers
Hi - Sorry I have no idea of the cost - they have just been installed at our house and look great - but can't help with cost at all. Re: vinyl planks? 31Jun 19, 2011 10:25 pm Mook- I don't recall the cost (I have tendency to block details like that from my mind although I found it quite a reasonable price) The Brand is Karndean and the colour we got was Summer Oak from the Art Selections Range. If you google those details you should get the Karndean website where it will give you the size and thickness of the planks and they'll also send out free samples! Hope that helps! Re: vinyl planks? 32Sep 25, 2011 9:49 am Hi are either of your houses on stumps that you had your vinyl plank floors in. Pls would you check out my post under zarda. Regard Lisa BayBuild Hi - we had vinyl planks in our old house (which is now our rental property and is nearly 5 years old and we haven't had a single problem with it) and we are also going to get it in our new house. I have no details for the flooring in the old place - we bought a house and land package and didn't get much info but have attached a couple of pics - couldn't find any real good ones of the flooring... http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/h425/BayBuild/083.jpg http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/h425/BayBuild/011-1.jpg Then in the new house we are getting the vinyl planks from Andersens and it is their own brand - Eziplanks and the one we are getting is EziPlank EZ52 - this hasn't gone in yet so don't have any pics to share. Re: vinyl planks? 34Oct 18, 2014 2:20 am Mine are well... few scratches but nothing obvious I did a post bout vinyl planks as still seems be people who think vinyl are lino - Vinyl Post Re: vinyl planks? 35Oct 18, 2014 9:54 am No issues so far, I have used a steam cleaner on them a few too many times, you are not supposed to steam clean vinyl. They seem to be fine so far. Re: vinyl planks? 36Oct 25, 2014 11:35 pm I'm tossing up between Harvey Norman flooring (allure) and Godfrey Hurst vinyl planks. Both are 0.5mm wear layer. Allure claims Ceramic bead coating whilst Godfrey Hurst claims polyurethane with ceramic bead. Are these the same thing, or is there such a thing as just ceramic bead?
