hi, went to choose colours today. Looked at carpets. In this forum have read that wool and nylon combo is best. They only had ONE carpet that had wool. The rest was nylon / polypropelene (excuse spelling). Then I asked about underlay having read here that rubber is best. She showed us rubber underlay which had waves/grooves and she says she was told if you spill water etc on carpet, it gets trapped in the grooves . She had something called 'comfort choice' - made by dunlopillo which they suggested as better.
Then it came to buying from them or post install. She explained that if we do our own, they will only tack on the skirtings so that means after we get carpet laid, we have to nail the skirtings, fill the holes and paint them... Seems a lot of work and I dont think we get a credit for them not doing the skirtings properly...
Have very little time to do running around etc.. so hoping you can all save me a lot of time here!
When it comes to pricing ... from most expensive to cheapest....in which order does it fall when comparing tiles/carpets/vinyl/wood...
Does anyone have any opinion on whether to let builder do or us do?
thanks in advance
