Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Apr 02, 2011 7:06 pm Hi! We are in the process of going through and deciding the flooring we want in our new home. Ideally we'd love timber- but our budget only allows for laminate as the closest to this. We went in to our local carpet court store and checked out their ranges- they actually have some really nice laminates in there. We REALLY liked a sample board of a brand I've never heard of before it's a mid range priced laminate @ $44 square metre called "Titan kwik-fit"- in the 12mm SELECT range. I can't find anything on the net really about it. We liked the spotted gum and the sydney blue gum especially. Has anyone got any information on it? What is it like? What is it's AC rating? If you have any photographs of it laid down in the Sydney Blue Gum colour I'd love to know how it looks. Any help would be appreciated!!!! Re: HELP needed on Laminate flooring brands... 2Apr 03, 2011 7:50 pm I work for Carpet Court in Nowra, we don’t sell that brand, sorry I can’t help you. But I'll check in the morning for you. Re: HELP needed on Laminate flooring brands... 5Apr 03, 2011 9:37 pm Thanks Mary I think we'll need all the luck we can get! Lol so many options, timber would be lovely, but I've seen some laminates laid down that look STUNNING. So fingers crossed (for you too) we find the right product Re: HELP needed on Laminate flooring brands... 6Apr 03, 2011 9:40 pm Oh by the way let us know how you go, it would be good to bounce ideas off someone else in the same boat! Happy searching! will do!It seems to really help to chat to others when making these decisions.I have 2 friends who are in the finishing stages of building themselves atm, which is good to chat to them about colour schemes, flooring etc, but they both have a MUCH BIGGER budget than me.1 friend is building on a rural property and their house is huge, they have bought jarrah wood for their floors, which has cost them $40,000!!The other friends husband is a builder and this is their 2nd home, and its massive with 3 large very elaborate bathrooms. My new house is not very big and is a transportable, which we know wont be a masterpiece, but we wanted a new home without the cost and hassle of building.we live in a rural area and builders are hard to get here. getting back to the laminates, I do love the look of them but have 3 friends who have went that option when extending/renovating/building, and all have said they would not get them again.
