Is it always this way? Re: COMPRESSED BAMBOO DECKING 4Apr 02, 2011 5:41 pm kexkez my thoughts? seem to be big gaps between the timbers in these photos. Is it always this way? Hello Kexkex The gap is 5mm and this is standard when installing decking. Concealed fixing UV stabilised clips & stainless steel screws for easy installation, these clips make the gap, so it is easy to install and the gap is always the same. What do you think about the colour and overall look of the decking? Bamboo Flooring Perth - Simply Bamboo http://www.simplybamboo.com.au Re: COMPRESSED BAMBOO DECKING 5Apr 02, 2011 5:42 pm i guess it matches the colouring inside on the flooring of the house in the picture. Too light for my tastes though I'm sure some might like it Re: COMPRESSED BAMBOO DECKING 6Apr 02, 2011 5:48 pm [quote="B STAR"]if it is cheaper than something like merbau then your on a winner.[/quoteThe The price is on par with jarrah decking, but of course compressed bamboo is twice as hard as jarrah, also is white ant resistant, is a lot more stable, which means doesn`t move as much as any other timber. Bamboo is a lot more eco-friendly than Merbau http://www.greenpeace.org/seasia/ph/Glo ... -indus.pdf Bamboo Flooring Perth - Simply Bamboo http://www.simplybamboo.com.au Re: COMPRESSED BAMBOO DECKING 7Apr 02, 2011 5:51 pm kexkez i guess it matches the colouring inside on the flooring of the house in the picture. Re: COMPRESSED BAMBOO DECKING 9Apr 02, 2011 7:10 pm Bamboo King kexkez my thoughts? seem to be big gaps between the timbers in these photos. Is it always this way? Hello Kexkex The gap is 5mm and this is standard when installing decking. Concealed fixing UV stabilised clips & stainless steel screws for easy installation, these clips make the gap, so it is easy to install and the gap is always the same. only 5mm? Must be the odd ( wide lens? / "cool viewpoint")way the photographer took the photo. It has made the gaps look at least 10mm ( 1 cm) I'd be worried about losing items between the gaps. I've seen timber decking before and never really noticed the gaps looking like that before. Thinking about it I've only ever seen jarrah decking in realife so perhaps given that it's a darker colour than that in the photo maybe the gap lines don't stand out as much. Decking always looks so pretty. I would rather my timber inside a house but I love admiring it at other peoples homes. Re: COMPRESSED BAMBOO DECKING 10Apr 03, 2011 7:31 pm pattycake4 It looks very nice how does it stand up to weather, wear and tear etc. What maintenance is required. Yes stands up very well and in fact better than most decking on the market today you have to treat and maintain like you do with other decking. As some advantages over the hardwood decking, white resistant and of course a lot more Eco-friendly than all the hardwoods. Thanks 0 10971 Use a product like Equisol's Vitalise to clean the deck then coat with a penetrating timber oil. It will look 10 years younger and add value to your home.
