Builder agreed to change the tile mind you I also wasn't keen on the mess next to my new carpet- haven't had a good week so Am a little over it all! Anyway was in Bunnings and had a look at their trim (the one the carpet layers left was hideous). Found one that I thought looked okay. Once I got it home and tried it I was happy with it so let them put it on. There was also a fair bit of grout between the tile and the angle which I wasn't so keen on. I think it looks better than it does in the photo http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q89/ ... 7c7b35.jpg For the PP about the different levels we have two things. An angle so about 1cm step. This was done a few years ago and I have just noticed some of the grout has come away exposing a raw edge. http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q89/ ... b10d10.jpg The other place we have used an angled piece of timber which will get stained with the floors. We also had one like this prior to our reno. http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q89/ ... 8c378d.jpg Thanks for your help! Re: Where tiles meet carpet?? 24Aug 25, 2011 3:05 pm Hi Donnam Just wondering if that trim came in a shiny silver chrome look? Thats exactly what i want to solve our problem with. It would have been nice if our tiler or carpet people could have suggested it Cheers Belinda Re: Where tiles meet carpet?? 26Aug 25, 2011 6:05 pm That trim is anodized aluminium, and AFAIK, it is not available in a 'shiny silver chrome' look. Other colours are gold, and maybe a pewter colour. That cover strip is designed for level flooring, and not a dropped edge. You could still use it, if the drop edge is not excessive, maybe 5mm. The plastic fixing plugs will be weakened, if there is too much angle. 1 15753 1 11005 they can, it's a fairly standard solution when the slab isn't recessed. the falls need to be in the main floor, if it hasn't been done then you need to ask them to redo… 4 6589 |
