Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Mar 30, 2011 12:05 pm Hi... We are starting to think about how we will decorate our new home from floor coverings upward... hubby and I are debating over tiles. Currently in our home we have a mix of tiles, laminate and spotted gum timber. Pros and cons I would like timber flooring but looking at the new boral range that is timber but clicks together. I am sick of grout and find that I just don't like the maintenance of our current tiles... plus our bathroom tiles are matt and show up water marks and foot prints - drives me insane... Laminate floor - looks fantastic when just mopped.. has been hard wearing with no scratches or dents but shows up foot prints smudges - drives me insane. Our spotted gum floor.. looks fantastic, has a few marks but not really noticeable .. but we had to rest it in the house first, then it was laid and then sanded... been down for 5 years and no major problems but if we do it again.. it costs a fortune.. so I like the boral strip flooring hubby wants tiles... give me your pros and cons and if you don't mind show me your floor that you love... we want to get this house right this time....
