Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Mar 17, 2011 3:03 pm We have slate floor tiles in our kitchen and dining room. They have moved over the years and are now cracked and most of the grout has lifted. So we'd like to pull them up and retile. We have timber floor boards underneath and we are not sure of the state of them. Does anyone know if it's best to first lay some masonite on the timber floor before we tile to help stop movement? I'm not sure how flat our floors are either so this might help. Any advice would be great! Re: Floor tiling 2Mar 17, 2011 3:47 pm Cement sheet would probably be more stable than masonite.
