Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jun 09, 2011 9:20 pm I have been trolling through all the carpet posts but I just wanted to find out how everyone feels about their carpet choice now they have been living with it for a while. * Carpets for bedrooms only, small kids so hard wearing, nice under foot, would prefer solution dyed nylon. Anyway suggest away, what have you got do you love it, what would you change? Thanks Bec Re: Carpets Recommendations 2Jun 09, 2011 9:28 pm We've had Redbrook brand carpet in our last 2 houses & have been very impressed with the quality. It was really easy to clean & we had quite a few spills, vomits etc & they left no stains what-so-ever. Different ranges feel different underfoot due to the loop in the carpet but we did find it pays to get good quality underlay as that adds to the cushioning. For our new home the carpet we are using is by Godfrey Hirst (apparently made by Redbrook) with 10mm underlay. When we were in the shop we had the samples on the floor with the underlay underneath & we walked across them bare foot to get a feel for what we preferred. The Godfrey Hirst carpet we are getting this time is called "Rapture" from Carpet Court & it's nylon. Can't remember the names of the Redbrook one's though. All of them had that square patten in them but I noticed they were all available in the plain too. It's very plush feel. It's supposedly next generation solution dyed nylon. We went with one style in master bedroom (which was a bit more expensive) and another in the rest of the bedrooms (which had some colour fleaks through it).
