We are planning to build in underneath our house at some stage (making a studio, gym and a guest room) and I was wondering what are the options to finish the existing slab floor without traditional coverings like tiles, vinyl or carpet. I know that for polished concrete you need a different strength concrete mix so that would be out since the slab is going to be standard.
What about acid-stained finishing? Does that need a special concrete mix first? If not, what are the comparative costs?
Are there any other options to make concrete floors serviceable for indoors? I know painting is usually reserved for garages but are there painting options that would work for indoors?
