Confused about tiling adhesive and grout for 60x60 cm porcelain internal floor tiles on a (relatively) new slab.
Which adhesive and which grout? Do we need to ask for a specific product, or just accept whatever they bring in ?
A tiling shop suggested to only use a non-slump adhesive (and, I suppose, for obvious reasons - wouldn't want the tile to just sink down over a light glue).
Also heard strong suggestions (from a tiler) to get the exact product name from each of the tilers we get quote from. But, how do I know what is a good product/deal?
Would be interested to hear what people's tilers have used and if anyone asked for specific products or just left it up to the tiler.
Same for grout.
And same for some wall tiling.
And, do we need to worry about tiling Adhesive Classification? According to Australian Standards - AS 4992 CE:
C - cementious adhesive
1 - normal adhesive (standard strength tile adhesive
2 - improved adhesive (stronger tile adhesive)
S - special deformable characteristic for cementious adhesves, ie. degree of flexibility. S1 - flexible; S2 - highly flexible
Confusing ...
And BTW, what's cementious adhesive?? Sounds like a mixture of cement and glue
