I have heard everything from 'they don't need to be sealed' to 'just seal the grouting'. The builder was charging about $5000 to seal the entire house, but I am very confused!! If they were polished that may be a different story. Sealing the floor with a penetrating type sealer is a good idea as the grout stays cleaner . I would try to see whther the tile will stain easily . Try to stain a spare tile you have with beetroot,red wine etc and let it soak.
