Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Dec 08, 2010 10:50 am Has anyone had any experience with stained solid timber floors and the longevity of the stain or issues later down the track with resanding and recoating ? I have approx 120sqm of slab that I want to cover with solid timber flooring, I was initially thinking of laying Tassy Oak but am not sold on the lighter yellowish colour. I thought maybe to keep costs down, I could stain the boards to a color that suits (grey/brown) My concerns are that the stain may fade over time in certain areas of sunlight and foot traffic. Also when it comes time to resand and resurface the stain my have penetrated the boards to deeply to sand out and cause discoloration when applying the new stain. Thoughts ? comments ?
