Re: Show us your matt porcelain tiling 43Apr 12, 2011 8:17 am Hi Guys Sorry but I have been away for a while in the USA finishing my stone course. Yes our new DIY kits are now available online at www.groutperfect.net.au we have been working on this new website for over 2 years now and we have developed a application DVD that makes things a lot easier. Craig Re: Show us your matt porcelain tiling 44Apr 12, 2011 8:21 am Bagheera oh ok - I had a little look on their website but could not see what retailer are selling the product. Do you have any idea where I might find it locally in Perth? I am unsure, you can call Research products they can tell you where you can buy it in Perth we do sell it and can deliver to your home but a $10 postage would be the extra charge. Craig Re: Show us your matt porcelain tiling 45Apr 12, 2011 8:23 am Casa2 DC stands for Double Charged. Yes, two layers (two different clays). I would say these are not as good as full bodies, particularly if you are doing something like a balcony and have exposed edges. I agree we are seeing some issues with these DC tiles. Craig Re: Show us your matt porcelain tiling 46Apr 12, 2011 8:26 am qonyx Grout Perfect CAUTION Keep this in mind! In saying that warranties on tiles does not exsist anyway, I have never really seen a customer win yet in 15 years there is good info on the Tile Council Australia regarding this. Craig Hi Craig, What happens if the tiles crack and it is clear that it is not the fault of the owner. ie. Hairline fracture or just a pure crack down the middle - are you saying that generally this is difficult for the owner to make a warranty claim. Cheers, Jeff If the tile is cracked or you are seeing hairline cracks in grout than this is the first sign of the substrate moving/deflecting no matter how many times you replace that tile or grout it will always crack. That is why crack proof membrane board should be screwed into the substrate before installing tiles. I assumed that the glazing will be enough - obviously not... Bagheera - i'd like an answer on that as well as we were also told the same thing - when I would think that the glaze would be able to 'protect' the tile.. does anyone have any feedback on this? if it is a good glazed tile, I donot see the point to seal, the reason for seal is to cover pore on surface of tiles, or stone. glaze tile as glaze already covered pore hole, this is the theory of sealing I asked this question of one of the forum's resident cabinet makers who may/may not wish to identify himself to answer other questions if he sees this, but the rersponse… 3 5684 Hi , I'm currently going through this now within the Whitehorse council which has a similar set of restrictions.
