Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Nov 30, 2010 4:40 pm After much umming and ahhing we've decided that forking our $11,000 (minimum) for engineered bamboo flooring is too expensive, especially considering we have so many other things to do (and spend money on). I'm hoping for recommendations of good quality laminate flooring that can be readily sourced in Perth. We're looking to do around 100m2 with underlay straight onto the slab (not keen on floating). I'm quite keen on the look of Blackbutt, so anything that looks reasonably close to this would be fantastic. From the research I've done it seems paying around $60-$70 per m2 (supplied and installed) is about right, please correct me if I'm wrong! New beginnings. Re: Timber laminate flooring - recommendations? 2Nov 30, 2010 6:25 pm We're very happy with our quickstep laminate in family room and kitchen. We chose Light Grey Varnished Oak in the Eligna range (mid-level) and it looks good, easy to clean and doesn't show up marks. We found quickstep one of the more realistic looking laminates, liked the way the grain flollowed the 'wood' patterns and knots. Here in Victoria most of the main flooring stores seem to sell it. Quickstep isn't the cheapest, but I think you get what you pay for when it comes to laminate. Lots of threads on laminates can be found here. Good luck with whatever you choose. eimaj Re: Timber laminate flooring - recommendations? 3Nov 30, 2010 6:43 pm I had a look at laminates while choosing carpet on the weekend. Re: Timber laminate flooring - recommendations? 6Mar 20, 2011 1:57 am Hi there, we got bamboo flooring put down in our living areas and timber laminates in our bedrooms. We got it done about 6 months ago. We paid $49 per meter, it included everything, underlay and the small skirting round the edges and installation. ........... we got a blackbutt look... we used http://www.allwoodflooring.com.au hope this helps now looking for a painter!
