Hard srubbing required? Is it safe to call in a professional tile cleaner? They tend to use hi-pressure steam "mops".....will it rip out the fresly laid grout? 12 March 2010 - Land titles received 3 April 2010 - Signed building contract 14 April 2010 - Prestart 28 April 2010 - Loan approved 30 June 2010 - Slab completed 27 August 2010 - Brickwork completed 22 September 2010 - Roofing completed 30 September 2010 - Internal walls plastered 12 October 2010 - Lock Up 19 November 2010 - PCI 26 November 2010 - Handover 29 December 2010 - Moved In https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32584 Re: How to clean newly laid porcelain floor? 2Nov 24, 2010 11:40 pm howdy i would think that warm water with a bit of white vinegar would work, however maybe google might have some answers - we're also having polished porcelain laid too - might have to ask the installer too for cleaning tips Follow Feggle viewtopic.php?f=31&t=34992 Follow lilfeggle viewtopic.php?f=31&t=37149 Asbestosis Sux! Don't breath in Asbestos Re: How to clean newly laid porcelain floor? 3Nov 25, 2010 4:15 pm I did abit more research, and found that there are two products you can use to clean up grout haze, both by Aqua Mix. One is called Grout Haze Clean Up: http://www.aquamix.com.au/products/grou ... ean-up.php The other is called NanoScrub: http://www.aquamix.com.au/products/nanoscrub.php I was advised by the distributor that NanoScrub is a new product and is the recommended one to get. However, im still abit concerned because on the product description it says that its an abrasive cleaner. Not sure if using this will cause micro-scratches to the polished procelain tile....thus making it look dull. 12 March 2010 - Land titles received 3 April 2010 - Signed building contract 14 April 2010 - Prestart 28 April 2010 - Loan approved 30 June 2010 - Slab completed 27 August 2010 - Brickwork completed 22 September 2010 - Roofing completed 30 September 2010 - Internal walls plastered 12 October 2010 - Lock Up 19 November 2010 - PCI 26 November 2010 - Handover 29 December 2010 - Moved In https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32584 Re: How to clean newly laid porcelain floor? 5Nov 26, 2010 12:03 pm The tiler should be cleaning the grout haze off themselves specially on polished porcelain, if not than use this product called porcelain creme cleanser you can find it at http://spiritsealers.com/gallery_viewit ... t=1&p_id=4 most tile shops should stock it. You will have to wait 48 hours before cleaning and if using a prof tile cleaner. The most important tip is: rinse, rinse, rinse after using any grout haze removal product. This is protect the tile but can be difficult to remove. You may need to use a special cleaner like Sure Seals "Sure Clean" and use a scrubbing machine if its a large area. Tony L How do you use a scrubbing machine on wall tiles? Should the wax be removed before laying? Re: How to clean newly laid porcelain floor? 9Nov 29, 2010 10:51 am Not easy to do, as we do this every week we use a mini orbitor sander stick valcro on than attach a white or red square pad. I do not recommend this procedure due to using an eletrical machine and water does not mix but we tape up the sides and keep water well away we also use a safety switch just in case. To DIY you can just use your hand it takes a long time to do but well worth it. Craig Re: How to clean newly laid porcelain floor? 10Jan 01, 2011 5:32 pm Sorry to Hijack the thread but is Porcelain tile stronger than ceramic in the sense that if the concrete has shrinkage cracks, etc. that it won't crack it like a ceramic tile would? Anyone can recommend a porcelian tiler (ones that laid tiles flat properly from tile to tile) and what their rates is/are? Re: How to clean newly laid porcelain floor? 13Jul 28, 2012 2:48 pm Wax gets largely removed automatically when they grout the tiles. Once you start cleaning the grout the following day, you'll also be removing wax (if any is still present). I thought I'd need a heavy duty equipment etc., so I bought the "Porcelain cleaner" (a really good cream cleanser) from Amber, but that was a huge overkill, didn't need to use almost any. Just plain shampoo-ey water and rough cotton terry cloth and lots of rinsing in clean water. Having said that, I did hear people have major issues with removing both the grout "haze" and the wax ... but looks like that will remain a mystery for me Hope I didn't confuse things though My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ...
