Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Nov 29, 2007 10:34 am G'day all
I've just received a quotation to get my floor tiles laid (110m2/ceramic/coloured grout/600x600cm), and he's asking $47.00 per m2. I have seen his previous work and he's work looks good, but I was hoping to pay a little less than that. I tried to arrange two other guys to quote, but neither showed up. I know how important a decent tiling job is, but the money is getting tight, so I'd love to hear what you guys think about his quote before signing up. I know we were charged extra for having large (450x450) tiles and we were also charged an excess for cut and break (because obviously you don't get as many tiles). That was through our builder though, so not sure about contractors prices. Ray. Second Time 'Round Re: Tiling costs 5Nov 30, 2007 1:15 pm There are a number of factors that need to be considered when paying for tiling. THing ssuch as the type of tile and size play a big role in costs, mainly due to additional handling, and specific cutting tools needed.
I think you have answered your own question when you say his work looks good. Adrian B Looking to tile the facade pillars rather than rendering. Builder is quoting 2500$ laying cost for upto 10msq. The 2 pillars come to be 16msq. So laying costs are 5000$… 0 7554 Hi, I'm clearing the tiles from our horrid 50 year old bathroom and preparing to lay new ones.
