Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Nov 13, 2010 5:11 pm Hello! Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with Solomon's engineered floor boards? We are thinking of laying 1 strip Jarrah and are unsure about the quality as we are not knowledgable on woods and can't tell from just sighting the ones in the store. Are we being paranoid because it's not one of the three brands that we've seen in every other store? ie Boral, ReadFlor or UTF? The sales person at Solomon's told us that it is their own brand. What do I need to watch out for? Do I need to ask questions about the plywood that's underneath and even then, how do I know what's good and what isn't? I've been told that Jarrah is 100% Australian and that it is all the same so it doesn't matter what brand it is. We're also laying carpet and are not too fussed as it is something we think we will replace when we can. What do I need to know about underlay? To be honest, some of that yellow rubber stuff they've shown us in the stores look really flimsy and the different gradings in the foam underlay are only different to me in colour! I can't tell the difference in feel! Any advice and experiences would be great! Thanks!! Re: Jarrah 1 Strip Engineered Floorboard Solomons 2Nov 19, 2010 4:25 pm Why buy Jarrah when you can save $$$$ and buy a Strand Woven Bamboo in a colour that is a perfect match for Jarrah, but is heaps harder and more environmentally friendly. Strand Woven Bamboo is the big thing at the moment. I sell heaps of timber too, but the bamboo is a very hot item at the moment. Joe Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. If you haven't sorted this already you need to caulk this gap. Not sure where you are but if you are in Sydney I can… 5 4345 Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone has switched from a small square tile insert or normal square waste to a strip drain at all, and if so did the plumber or diy-er… 0 13138 |
