Tiles v timber - the timeless dilemma !
We have polished porcelain 600x300 whitish tiles in our entry and high gloss Flooded Gum floorboards throughout the main living area. They are a wide plank style (189mm). The timber is great, the tiles are nice but I could take or leave them.
We love the timber, it gives a real warmth, and while the high gloss does require a little extra dust brooming, it is really very easy to look after, and as one previous poster said, we're cleaning this floor less than the tiles we had in our previous homes. One word for that - grout.
