Or that you don't get your palms oily when you go over the floor (after you have thoroughly removed the last bit of natural (and unnatural ) oils from your hands by washing them in super strong detergents - as one normally does )?? Not even the tiniest bit? My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... My understanding is you can get some "rejection" where it doesn't soak into the floor but we had no issues. Looks fab. DH watched them apply it and said it is easy peasy. Only thing to take not of is to keep the coats very thin. We chose cypress pine for a number of reasons. It has lots of character so will hide marks and they will add to the rustic look of the floor. It is also naturally termite resistant and significantly cheaper than other tongue and groove timber. It is not technically a hardwood but is classified as such because the properties are similar. We chose hardwax oil because we didn't want the toxicity of polyurethane finishes. The bonus is that if it wears on a particular spot or is scratched, that particular section can be buffed back a little and another coat of oil applied. We only had two very thin coats to have applied instead of three with other products. If you have a poly finish and it is damaged, you can't spot repair you basically have to do a whole room. Pm me where you are. I will send you details of the various help I have had as it may be helpful in your research. Pregnancy ok. Expected to feel far worse than I do. But that can change. :p RF Build: viewtopic.php?f=38&t=34534 Flooring: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=39733 Chat: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=53303 I’m restoring all my 40yr old windows and I want to install seals around the casements.
