Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering Re: pics - floor going in 2Oct 05, 2010 9:35 am Deathgod, floor is looking great - are you using the 12mm gloss laminate boards? what is the colour/type called and what brand are you using? - I am so pleased to see this down as this is what I have chosen to use as well and to see it down in a whole room is fantastic to see. You must be so pleased with how it has come up. Site Start: 10th September, 2010 PCI : Friday 27th January, 2011. These boards are great we got a sample plank and I have been scratching it with keys, dropping full cans of food on it from about 1 metre, scratched it with a knife and when you hold it up in the light you can see a little mark on them, but it held up to the abuse remarkably well and for $55 per metre you cant go wrong. Would love to see more pics when you can. Site Start: 10th September, 2010 PCI : Friday 27th January, 2011. Really interested in your testing/scratching of the boards too Ring09 ... might have to do that as well just to show hubby they can be durable. ~ trying to build our dream home by the sea ~ Re: pics - floor going in 10Oct 05, 2010 10:51 am Thanks for the info deathgod. Rarygirl - these floors are terrific for durability - I have family with real wood and bamboo flooring and when that first scratch goes in they got really upset and have to get products to hide the scratches etc. take shoes off, etc, etc, etc I wanted a flooring product that I didnt have to worry about, I often re-arrange furniture, have a dog, I didnt want to tippy toe around, so I really put the sample thru it's paces and it has held up, another plus is the price, it is so cheap. The laminate manufacturers are always improving compared to the product around 5 years ago it looks remarkably real and with this new 12mm gloss if you didnt tell anyone it was laminate they would be hard pressed to identify it from real timber. Deathgod, when it's finished and you have put your furniture in, would love your feedback on how it sounds underfoot, I have been advised by the salespeople that it doesnt sound 'clicky-hollow' but would love your feedback. We will be installed about 75 sq metres too, it's good to know it doesnt take that long to lay. Site Start: 10th September, 2010 PCI : Friday 27th January, 2011.
