Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Aug 20, 2010 11:20 am We've just had a solid wood floor laid (finished yesterday) and we're not getting them finished for a month or two until we finished painting etc. However the guys were so bloody messy with the glue it's everywhere. I know that we have to be careful with what we drop on the floors in the mean time, but my question is, should this glue be removed now so it doesn't stain the boards. My concern is the glue is going to stain the floor or make it look patchy. Cheers Re: Hardwood floors laid, and glue everywhere 2Aug 20, 2010 11:58 am Hi Poidda I was also worried when we had our spotted gum floor laid a few months ago. The floor layer told me not to worry as they will take around 3mm off the top at the end when they sand it. Even small dints from grit and screws should sand out. You should see my floor now after a couple of months of tradies - paint, mud, plaster. The thing that upsets me most is that some even butt their cigarettes out on it!!! I can't believe how disrespectful some people can be. So try not to stress out too much - I would only be really worried if it was oil based and seeped down further into the layers. Just make sure you protect it after it's sanded and polished. I hope this helps Julie-anne Re: Hardwood floors laid, and glue everywhere 4Aug 20, 2010 5:44 pm As long as they used proper flooring glue it will sand off fine Cheers I totally agree with everything you have written. It's called T Rex and will stick your timber to the concrete. Cheers Simeon 1 1551 I had new concrete laid, extended the alfresco and had the sidewalks concreted too. I noticed the concreter didn't put the expansion foam anywhere, there are expansion… 0 8117 |
