Anyone had experience with these guys ? http://www.allstripped.com.au/index.php Re: Tile Slate Removal 3Aug 26, 2010 10:38 pm If you are in WA try the Concrete Care division of Kennards in Belmont. They will refer you to reputable contractors that they deal with so you know what you are getting before you let strangers into your house. Re: Tile Slate Removal 8Sep 02, 2010 4:17 pm Thanks for that good to see they got it done in half a day should have been cheaper. They really do need to take care that is terrible I would ask them to fix certain areas it is a bit rough damaging areas that were not of concern. Craig Re: Tile Slate Removal 10Sep 02, 2010 7:16 pm I've got slate floors, but financially i cant get them removed right now. the bathroom ones are literally crumbling under our feet, i've read that if bleach has been used on the they continue to degrade over time, is there anything i can do to make it clean and shiny in the meantime? Re: Tile Slate Removal 11Sep 02, 2010 9:16 pm deathgod, great to see you've got rid of those tiles ... not so good you acquired some damage ... please keep us informed of what they've done about it ... Anyway, here's my question: can rubber underlay (about 3 to 5mm thick) which is totally glued to slab be removed and the slab cleaned? My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Tile Slate Removal 12Sep 03, 2010 8:05 am Ruyaa I've got slate floors, but financially i cant get them removed right now. the bathroom ones are literally crumbling under our feet, i've read that if bleach has been used on the they continue to degrade over time, is there anything i can do to make it clean and shiny in the meantime? No there is not much you can do, things to consider does it already have a sealer coating on there if so no cleaning will help, it needs to be stripped first than cleaned than a wet look sealer applied. If there is no coating on the tiles than a good alkaline tile cleaner is what you will need to use than rinse the floor with clean water afterwards.. Craig Re: Tile Slate Removal 13Sep 03, 2010 8:07 am Lex deathgod, great to see you've got rid of those tiles ... not so good you acquired some damage ... please keep us informed of what they've done about it ... Anyway, here's my question: can rubber underlay (about 3 to 5mm thick) which is totally glued to slab be removed and the slab cleaned? Yes you will need to hire one of those scrapers and elbow grease plenty off it. Craig Re: Tile Slate Removal 14Sep 03, 2010 8:29 am Thanks GP ... what do you mean with "one of those scrapers" and do you have any ideas who to call in Sydney re. this?? Is it some kind of large "sanding" machine?? My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Tile Slate Removal 15Sep 03, 2010 8:43 am Lex it is just a hand scraper on a pole looks like a shovel but flat with a sharp edge. There are machines you can hire that have a scraper attached 100 times easier not cheap to hire. If you want to call someone to do it call the vinyl guys they do it all the time. Craig Re: Tile Slate Removal 16Sep 03, 2010 9:16 am still havent heard back from AllStrip price was over $2 grand in the end, apparently it was 51 sq/m plus $150 driving charge ( i am on coast 1hr30mins from their depot ) Should I be concerned about damage or is it a 'given' in tile/slate removal. I undersdtand the skirt daage, which was minor, but not the freshly painted walls and teh hole left in floor. I would be very concerned about the damage as there should be no reason to damage those areas that have nothing to do with the floor removal the hole should be repaired by them aswell unless it is written on there job description. They charged you $2000 for half a days work men I am in the wrong trade. Craig Re: Tile Slate Removal 18Sep 03, 2010 10:14 am just got email back from All Stripped HI Peter Unfortunately with our type of work you can never tell what the sub-floor is like and whilst we take all precautions and care to minimise any damage or marks to walls and skirts it is often part of the job. As per our disclaimer. MDF Flooring can be very soft and when removing the cement sheeting and nails, sometimes parts of the MDF come up with the cement sheeting. As far as the walls are concerned it is always difficult when a house has just been painted and the decision is made to remove flooring, which can be a major part of the renovation process. Our guys are the best and cleanest in the industry and always take care and pride in there work. It is demolition though. Whilst I am happy with the look of the job completed, I am disappointed you are not completely happy with the process. I hope you can accept the above explanation, and can continue with your renovation with confidence that you have employed professionals to remove your flooring Regards Re: Tile Slate Removal 19Sep 03, 2010 10:37 am deathgod just got email back from All Stripped HI Peter Unfortunately with our type of work you can never tell what the sub-floor is like and whilst we take all precautions and care to minimise any damage or marks to walls and skirts it is often part of the job. Thanks for posting this I will not be recommending this company anymore. If they do not want to help you than send them this link I am sure they do not want a bad rep you may also want to try and find if they advertise on google maps and leave a bad review if they can not help you.
