Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Aug 17, 2010 8:36 am Hi Folks, I have a bit of a dilemah with my floorboards plan. I'm planning to lay floorboards in the entry hall, down the hall to the living areas and through the dining/kitchen areas. My issue is that the entry hall and the hall running into the living areas runs on a 'L' shape. I'm not sure what way to go with the floorboards. Obviously to make the most impact in the entry foyer I would want the floorboards running away from the door lengthways, but then when it gets to the end, if I stay in that direction I will have lots of short pieces running across ways in the other hall. I'm not really fussed what way they run in the living areas becuase it is such a big space. What options have people gone with for areas that run parallel to each other? Does anyone have photos of a change of direction in floorboards? Cheers Re: Direction to lay floorboards 2Aug 17, 2010 9:18 am is the other "end" bit of the hall that turns the corner longer than the entry bit? if not, I would be inclined to leave the long bits in the entry and have a small portion of short bits running across the hallway. I think it would look a bit piecemeal having them run different ways... I haven't seen a floor like this though so could be wrong.
