Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Aug 03, 2010 5:54 pm Hi, New to this forum and been reading interesting post on this forum. So, just wondering if someone can give me suggestion on laminate floor and carpet? I went to a couple of stores in Ferntree + Clayton area and was told that Armstrong made a good quality of timber floor. Is it true? I mean for the price I've been quoted, do I get good value for money. Not sure what the type is, but for the 12mm, I've been quoted $49/sqm (there's 1 pattern in clearance for $35/sqm) supplied only. There's also 8mm one for $20/sqm. My question, in term of quality/comfort/durability/etc, is 8mm & 12mm laminate make a big differences? Any further explanation? The installation price is around $20-30/sqm (laying only). Also, been offered a carpet, either Stainmaster or SDN from Godfrey Hirst for about $99/lm supplied only ($150/lm installed) and another wool blend from Quest for about the same price. Which one is actually better for bedroom? That Stainmaster nylon, SDN or wool blend (80% wool/20% nylon)? What's the pros/cons? Hope everyone can advise. Thanks.
