Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jul 29, 2010 12:33 pm We are on a pretty tight budget and carpeting is one of the areas that is not getting much funding! I have chosen a pretty inexpensive polypropylene carpet from Carpet One. The appearance is fine, solid charcoal with a bit of textured lines. We are getting 140 sqm of carpeting laid for about $4700. Just looking for others that have laid polypropylene and are they happy with their product or do they wish they would have forked out the money for better carpet? Just a sidenote: kids are 3 and 18 months so we figure in 5 years when we have more moola to spend if we need to replace we'll do it later. I know what your going thru - you have a budget in mind for flooring - but by the time it comes around to getting it - the funds have been spent on numerous other things. No deposit, monthly repayments over 42 Months. If you can stretch to $5500 I can supply you with a SDN, but a poly will clean up just as well as an SDN, resist bleach the same as an SDN, it's just that it doesn't have as good a memory as SDN (bounce back from wear and tear and furniture crush marks etc). Call me if I can help. Coming back to your old stomping grounds, huh? Renovations on a budget can be quite the journey. It's like giving your house a new lease on life.
