I've been talking to someone here about her carpet purchasing dramas. Was told of an (unnamed ) national carpet franchise that has been trying to sell a certain type of carpet. I looked up their website, and there's just NO INFORMATION about the lines of carpets they are pushing, (or any of their lines for that matter)!
It seems they like to keep the buying public in the dark and corral them in line to buy what they want to sell, and are very reluctant to provide open and transparent info. Their site provides bugger all specs or info about their carpets! So HOW is anyone supposed to make informed and sound decisions, when they only have some salesperson's word that the carpet they are buying is going to be fit for purpose or last long??
As a contrast, here is a site that is pure joy to browse through.... http://www.cavbrem.com.au/browse-catalogue.aspx
You can browse various carpet styles, and then click on each one to find out all the vital specs and information. Now THAT is how buying carpets SHOULD BE! Of course, this particular manufacturer has every reason to be quite up front about the specs of their carpets.... they are of a very high quality and standard, so they have nothing to hide!
I can only suggest that anyone buying carpets take little notice of sales pitches, and look beyond to the manufacturer's specs when comparing carpets.
Cheers!
Ash.
