Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 May 10, 2010 4:57 pm Has anyone here installed the Armstrong ForestSelect XL 12mm laminate flooring? Would like some opinions on this product, how would you rate it and is it a good or lousy product? At $60/sqm it's more expensive than other popular laminates (QuickStep for instance) and close to the price of some solid and engineered timber floors. http://www.armstrong-aust.com.au/resflr ... elect.html 12 March 2010 - Land titles received 3 April 2010 - Signed building contract 14 April 2010 - Prestart 28 April 2010 - Loan approved 30 June 2010 - Slab completed 27 August 2010 - Brickwork completed 22 September 2010 - Roofing completed 30 September 2010 - Internal walls plastered 12 October 2010 - Lock Up 19 November 2010 - PCI 26 November 2010 - Handover 29 December 2010 - Moved In https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32584 Re: Armstrong laminate flooring 3May 12, 2010 11:27 pm It is a good product, but has been superseeded now. We used to sell it. The newer trend is same high gloss etc, same thickness but in 2.26mtr long planks. 30 year warranty against defects and delamination. RRP $69, but you may be able to negotiate lower if a decent quantity. Available at your local Harvey Norman store. It's called Timber Impressions. If you do want the forest select style short boards, they can sell you similar 12.3 mil high gloss for less than 60, but still with 30 year warranty. Hope that helps. Re: Armstrong laminate flooring 4May 13, 2010 12:12 pm Thanks guys. That's interesting, i heard some people say that the Timber Impressions that Harvey Norman carries are just rebranded Forest Select boards....and they're basically the same product? Anyways i dont think Harvey Norman in WA sells the timber impressions though....I dont recall seeing any laminate flooring products over here 12 March 2010 - Land titles received 3 April 2010 - Signed building contract 14 April 2010 - Prestart 28 April 2010 - Loan approved 30 June 2010 - Slab completed 27 August 2010 - Brickwork completed 22 September 2010 - Roofing completed 30 September 2010 - Internal walls plastered 12 October 2010 - Lock Up 19 November 2010 - PCI 26 November 2010 - Handover 29 December 2010 - Moved In https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32584 Re: Armstrong laminate flooring 5May 14, 2010 11:01 pm Actually, we imported it directly in 6 - 8 colours and Armstrong imported a few colours themselves. Same factory....but we imported and sold a zillion times more product - so you could say that Forest Select was a rebranded version of the original Timber Impressions and you would be far more accurate. The current TI product is from a different mill, having advanced past version 1. That product is like 2 years old now. Longboards are the new trend. Re: Armstrong laminate flooring 6Jun 27, 2010 10:53 pm Hi there We've decided to go ahead with Armstrong Forest Select which do come in 2.2m lengths with 30yr warranty. No idea about which factories they come out of but love the Spotted Gum in this range! Carpet Choice so far has been the cheapest option and with only 6 weeks or so till we get the keys for the house, we're putting a deposit on the flooring before Wed 30 June to make the most of the EOFY sales. Usual price of the Forest Select at Carpet Choice is $65 (I think) but now on sale for $54.95 and we're getting a further discount since we're ordering 200m sq. If you're ready to make a decision, now is a great time to get some good prices.
