Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Apr 30, 2010 4:42 pm Just finalising my flooring. We are getting Bamboo strandwoven boards down in coffee. Now comes the hard part. Which direction should I lay the floor boards? Our house will have bamboo everywhere but the wet areas. 260m2 of floors. Our Entry Hall way runs North to South and our upstairs Hallway runs North to South as well. Our windows in the living area (ground floor)are on the south side of the house, and the Upstairs TV areas has Northern Windows. The length of our living area runs from East to West. I am thinking that we should lay them in the direction of the windows and the Hall way. What have you done? What was your reasoning? Many thanks, Michelle Re: Which direction do I lay floorboards 2Apr 30, 2010 5:03 pm A very subjective thing, but conventional wisdom suggests running with the length of the hallway and then go from there.
