Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 May 15, 2010 9:02 pm Hi All... Have come across this floor that I love and just wonder if anyone has ever used or seen this product laid... and is it as great as I think it will be???? Am going to have an all white gloss kitchen and think this will look nice and modern... love to see photos if anyone has used it! http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/3046/floorp.png Re: Formica Laminate Floor 12mm...anyone have experience? 2May 16, 2010 8:57 am I may be wrong, but I think the Formica laminate is imported from France. Yes, thats a pretty cool colour. It's not too mainstream, so you don't see it around that much in general terms. I can't comment on the quality of the Formica product, as I have had no experience with it. I used to work for a laminate manufacturer in WA (WESFI) and it was bought out by Laminex who now import the Formica Laminate (instead of making it in Perth like we used to) - so I dont know the imported product. You can also achieve the same look with a new product called Allure Boutique - same colouring etc. Still a floating floor but it is made from PVC, not wood - so it is not effected by water The colour is Venetian. Good luck with your floor. Its great to see someone putting a cool floor in (instead of the same old same old Re: Formica Laminate Floor 12mm...anyone have experience? 3May 18, 2010 5:04 pm anthony_carter I may be wrong, but I think the Formica laminate is imported from France. Am now a little concerned with the laminate floor as I am scared about scratching...or dropping a knife on it or something!! How does this product rate with scratching??? ANyone else had any experience???? Re: Formica Laminate Floor 12mm...anyone have experience? 4May 18, 2010 5:17 pm I love that floor, we considered it for AGES, but in the end went for a quickstep timber laminate in a very similar colour (slightly more brown, and I suppose, mainstream!) The Quickstep was dearer than the Formica, however to our eyes it looked less "plasticy". We weren't necessarily trying to achieve a "timber look", we just felt the Quickstep looked better quality. Plenty of people here on the forum recommended Quickstep as well. Have had the Quickstep for a week - loving it so far. Very easy to live with and the colour is great.
