Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Apr 20, 2010 5:46 pm Hi all, appreciate your help as we FINALLY make a decision on our floors. In terms of colour we are looking for a grey/brown, not too much grain. Have discovered this limits our options significantly (not a bad thing!) We are down to: Quickstep Classic - 7mm or Balterio Authentic - 8mm I had never heard of Balterio until today, where as Quickstep seems incredibly popular. The look between the 2 is almost identical, therefore the decision needs to be made based on quality /reputation - which I have little knowledge of. The one thing the Balterio has over the Quickstep is a 12 year Commercial use warrantly, on top of a 25 year domestic use warranty - this implies it should wear extremely well, particularly as we are using it domestically. The hardness rating is AC-4. (not sure of Quicksteps rating.) It also has "approval" for kitchen use (we are not using it in our kitchen, but again suggests a stronger product.) Balterio is slightly more expensive than the Quickstep, but not enough for us not to consider it. Is this a no brainer? Has anyone else used a Balterio floor or heard anything about the brand? Thanks so much Re: My timber laminate dilemma continues - Balterio? 2Apr 20, 2010 6:18 pm I haven't heard about Balterio but I do know that the Quickstep is AC 4 too Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15924 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair At a bit of a loss on this one - we're thinking the original owners never removed the protective laminate covers from their kitchen cabinets after installation and in the… 0 6337 We are doing heaps of hybrid at the moment and the cost sits between $60-65/sqm including installation.
