Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Apr 11, 2010 9:55 am Hubby and I can not agree on what floor covering to have in our hall and main living/kitchen areas. He wants the large rectified highly polished tiles which will cost about 6K just to have them laid v's I'm happy with any tile (he can lay normal ones himself) - I just want them in. We need to cover about 80sqm. We've negotiated that he can have his tiles but not straight away as funds are really tight - so we are looking for a temporary flooring solution that will do for a couple of years - easy to install/easy to remove. I guess lino (vinyl floor) is the way to go, has anyone else done this? We are hoping to get away with laying it for around $10/sqm (laying it ourselves). Any suggestions on what type and where to get it from would be really appreciated. 2011 Home Sweet Home Handover 03 September 2010 PCI 27August 2010 Plumber 20August 2010 Electrician 19August 2010 Painting 04 August 2010 Cabinets 13Jul2010 Lockup 23June Frame 20April slab 1Mar10 Re: cheap lino - temporary solution 2Apr 11, 2010 6:03 pm We are going to put vinyl down because ours is a holiday beach house - so less maintenance and I can't stand grout in tiles! I've been looking in Perth - seen some nice wood look ones which we'll probably go for - around $42m2 (installed $51m2). Signature and Pegulan I think are good brands, however you may want to go cheaper if its not going to be down for long. You may find a discontinued line which will cut the cost in half. We nearly brought one for $20m2 but decided I didn't like it!! Hope you find what you're after Hi JW I just read your post and I find this situation quite strange.
