Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Apr 09, 2010 6:54 pm our builder told us last week that his Bamboo floor supplier has fallen through. We are not sure of the quality we will end up with now with a new supplies so we are considering doing it ourself after handover. we met the guy from Perfect Timber Floors (south Morang) at he home show and he was extremely helpful so we got a quote from them as they had a great special. ($99/m including underlay) has anyone used them for their floors? what was their quality and service like? We have met with two of the guys at the hoppers office and they have been fabulous. What I loved was that they came UNDER the quote that we had from Western Distributors, the guys that were reccomended to us for their great prices. While i have not seen any work that PTF have done, I am confident with the choice we have made. They were really helpful and patient in answering every single question i had about each of the floorings.. (and i promise you, there were a lot of questions). Good luck with the lay.. I look forward to watching this thread for other replies. Building the NBG Hotham 26 (altered by us) through CitiWest Re: Bamboo Flooring in Melbourne: Perfect Timber Floors???? 3Apr 10, 2010 1:23 pm Met the guys of PTF at the latest HIA Homeshow their quotation for pre cut pre polished bamboo flooring per sq m was way too high ranging from $99 to $120. In there I have found an unassuming stand it turns out a giant timber yard $50 per sq m. May be it is because the kind of stand the choose for the exhibition have a lot to do with pricing. I should have around 100m's or so extra. It's around 6 weeks away if anyone is interested. Located in Melbourne. Some companies are importing inferior products. We also spoke with the guy from PTF yesterday and was impressed. We had originally been quoted from KLR Flooring and Bamboo Timber Select but they can't match the price of PTF. The Homeshow special of $99 fully installed is great. Re: Bamboo Flooring in Melbourne: Perfect Timber Floors???? 9Apr 11, 2010 2:35 pm We got a price from Andrew at PTF in Sth Morang a few months ago for solid Sydney Blue Gum and were very impressed. We spoke with the owner at the Home Show and he invited us to stop by a house they are installing at the moment which has a similiar floorboard. So you could perhaps speak to him about something similiar to see the quality of their work and what not? The Homeshow special of $99 fully installed is great. this is why we are worried about what our builder will get us in the first place (they will go for low cost not quality). I was wary of the really cheap floors I saw at the home show. I dont want to have to get them fixed or replaced. It was a shame as they were good and relatively cheap and I would have used… 3 4620 Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15884 2 4657 |
