Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Apr 06, 2010 9:40 am Hey guys, I am trying to work out how much to budget for tile upgrades with Porter Davis. Does anyone know the price per sqm of the standard builders range they use? If I then choose a tile outside of this category do I just pay the difference? She's backkkkk... Re: Porter Davis tiles 2Apr 06, 2010 10:22 am I will go through my papers later but from what I remember I had to pay extra in the first place to include/upgrade tiles in wetted areas or something along those lines. Then yeah you will have to pay the difference depending on which type of tiles you would like to upgrade to. For example, just to put it in perspective I had to pay 5k to upgrade the tiles in the main corridor, living room and kitchen only. You can see the difference if you compare both tiles (apart from aesthetics) I mean the glazed tiles is way more robust and the thickness of the glazing on top is about 4-5 times more than the standard one. Also if it chips you can barely tell the difference which can be very handy if you run out of spares. Re: Porter Davis tiles 3Apr 06, 2010 12:57 pm Hi Sharee, if your just upgrading from the base category then you just pay the difference. At your tile selection, the consultant will tally up all the costs and provide a copy of the selections and cost of upgrades. Best option is go have a look at the show room where you do selections, that'll give you a better idea of what is included in the standard range rather than trying to pick it all just within the selection appointment. I will definitely head down to the showroom to have a look. There is actually a tile in one of the display homes that I really like, I know the price of it so was hoping someone might know the price of those in the standard range so I could work out the difference? Ie If you're building an access home, a tile thats an upgrade for you, may be included already within the Prestige base range. From memory way back when we did ours , the Places included range was a mix of the access and some of the lifestyle included. In the end we only added feature strips to the showers and upgraded from 20x30 white tiles to 20x40's instead and our upgrades came in under $250. It also helped that we're only tiling the wet areas and were happy with one of the included options for the floor tiles.
