Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Apr 05, 2010 12:53 am Hello All Im new to the forum and I have already read some great posts! Question- DH and I are building shortly and are using a laminate flooring (for various reasons). We were all set to go with Formica click laminate until we went to Bunnings today and saw there range of laminate click flooring. They had a range there I had never seen before called (Im pretty sure) Laminea? Has anyone used this? We were looking at the St Lucia colour. Im just wondering what it is like with its shiny surface and the actual brand. We have formica flooring now in idea walnut and its non gloss. Just wondering what the gloss and brand is like. Thankyou. Re: Laminea Flooring- What do you know? 2Apr 05, 2010 3:30 pm That brand i am not sure of but if its like the other brands bunnings has stay away from it.Be carefull with gloss floors most people complain how hard they are to keap clean you can see every bit of dust etc. Re: Laminea Flooring- What do you know? 3Apr 08, 2010 9:14 pm There is a BIG variation in the quality of the different laminates on the market. Price is usually [but not always] a very good indicator. With the cheaper ones you get what you pay for. Laminates may all look the same on the floor when first laid, but a better quality one will last longer. Re: Laminea Flooring- What do you know? 4May 10, 2012 8:53 pm Oh, from experience, don't buy Laminate, We have bought an AC3 with a 25 year warranty - Looked fantastic when it was first laid - within months it was flaring at the edges with any moisture - walk in with wet boots - flared within 20 minutes and stays that way, really really awful and disappointing. The product is rated (supposedly) AC3 which is Heavy Duty residential, Light Commercial even ok for in bathrooms and kitchens - Don't believe this and don't be fooled by the rating and the 25 year guarantee - We went with a company we thought were a reputable retailer but now even with their experts saying it is not fit for purpose they won't back this product, though they are still happy to sell it with an international rating and guarantee. Go to a reputable supplier who will back their product. I had an old shower unit that broke on me and when I took it off, there were only 2 water pipes, instead of the normal 2 water pipes and a shower head pipe. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer. Insulation is pretty cheap and definitely worth it 2 6207 |
