Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Mar 15, 2010 8:27 am My carpet is for first floor of house. Downstairs is tiles, staircase timber and first floor includes bedrooms kids lounge room. I was going to install wool carpet - but I think now I have been persuaded to Color Solution Nylon. What is your opinion? Re: Colour Solution Nylon V's Wool Carpet 2Mar 15, 2010 11:11 am We are going to be installing solution died nylon. Well wearing, and easy to clean. Re: Colour Solution Nylon V's Wool Carpet 3Mar 16, 2010 10:56 am Felixx, where is your house? What are the most important qualities you want from your carpets? What kind of lifespan are you wanting from the carpet? What is the expected service (kids, pets etc)? Ash. Re: Colour Solution Nylon V's Wool Carpet 5Mar 16, 2010 5:58 pm We are located in NSW on the coast. Needs to service 2 toddlers, obviously no food drinks upstairs - but I am sure there will be the add Chuck up......on the floor and textas etc....( I mean I hope not, but just want to be practical). No Pets, I like that uneven sizle style of carpet with a loop short pile. Would like to get as long as possible out of the carpet...... Re: Colour Solution Nylon V's Wool Carpet 6Mar 16, 2010 8:06 pm Depending on where you are, try going to see; Matthew at Harvey Norman GOSFORD (Erina) or Tom at Harvey Norman NEWCASTLE (Bennets Green) or Glenn at Harvey Norman PORT MACQUARRIE You can get a carpet with a lifetime stain warranty, with SDN like fade resistence, with the softness of wool. It's called Smartstrand (google or YouTube it). You won't regret it. About 30 ranges to choose from with about 25 colours in each range. Re: Colour Solution Nylon V's Wool Carpet 7Mar 16, 2010 8:08 pm Or if you are further north you can toto Warren at Tweed Heads or if you are on the South Coast, you have Dennis at Nowra. Cheers. Re: Colour Solution Nylon V's Wool Carpet 8Mar 16, 2010 8:12 pm You can get a carpet with a lifetime stain warranty, with SDN like fade resistence, with the softness of wool. I like the sound of this, I will definetly be asking to look at the range tomorrow when I once again go carpet shopping. I have found the Solution Dyed Nylon that I have looked at, is not as soft as I hoped, you might have provided me with the answer. Thanks Re: Colour Solution Nylon V's Wool Carpet 10Mar 17, 2010 1:33 am Felixx, the Smartstrand carpets are worth looking at. Also some solution dyed nylon carpets, but the spray dyed nylons will be more prone to fading. There are some excellent carpets also from Northstate Carpet Mills using a yarn they call Sensitex 6000. Quality wool carpets will cost more, and perform very well, but might be more sensitive to sun fading than the others mentioned. I have some reservatons about the Smartstrand carpets, but I'll start another thread to nut that out. Ash. Re: Colour Solution Nylon V's Wool Carpet 11Mar 17, 2010 7:32 am See Gary at Harvey Norman Warrawong. He is a great bloke, knows Plenty about all types of carpets. If you do want an SDN then he has around 20 odd to choose from, but iq150 Smartstrand is the latest fibre on the market with all the bells and whistles. Ash is a bit sceptical, as it is a "new" fibre and being in WA hehasnt seen it yet (they don't have Harvey Norman flooring in the west, just regular Harvey Norman stores). I plan on sending him some to test, then Ash will be it's biggest fan !!! Google iq150 / Sorona Smartstrand or YouTube it. See for yourself what the rest of the world are saying about this revolution in carpet yarn. Hi We are building in the Hunter Valley, our soil test is H1, our builder has advised us they need to have a letter signed for Fair Trading as the new drainage standard… 0 3540 Sorry!
