It seems to me that if i had the know how and equipment to cut and sand down the doors once they are finished, i would probably have the tools and know how to lay the floor in the first place! I have been told that it can be quite difficult to cut a few cm's off the bottom of a door in a straight line. The door issue is even more worrying for us, because the doors both go to outside, so weather and rain will come straight in if it is a wet day.. Also, if there are architraves or door surrounds already down to the existing floorline apparently the guys who quoted for us have a machine to cut them away so that you dont need to remove them, but the skirting boards are a different issue and we will have to remove them all and put them back on again. I would have thought that all of these types of things would be thought of and carried out by the company you go with!?!? or am i being unreasonable? tc Cutting door jambs is something installers have to do on all jobs as for the skirtings that should have been spoken about when quoteing most installers will remove and reinstall skirtings at a price but not repaint them.
