Alternatively you can install a strip across the two surfaces (which the timber contractor will do) - but I don't think this looks the best. If your flooring tiles are relatively thick, you may be able to get away with nothing. I have 15mm engineered timber floors, with an aluminium angle at the junction between the two surfaces. The angle was neat as you only see a trim a couple of millimetres thick, and the difference between the tiles and the timber is minimal. As the trim is in the middle of the doorway, you don't even notice the difference in height. I also caulked across the back of the trim when I caulked around the floor tiles.
