Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering Re: timber floor costs 21Mar 16, 2010 1:35 pm Regarding water proofing a concrete subfloor. Selleys VBS is the go. It is a - no brainer - 2pac system which can be put on by the punter. Each tin covers about 20 sqm. The boxes come with 2 tins in correct ratios with a stirrer and all. You just need a roller (a throwaway) and a cut-in brush You do need to work relatively quickly as the VBS does go off, but I think you have around half an hour or so to get the VBS on the floor. If you are laying your floor onto ply, then the cheaper alternative is to roll out black plastic and tape it across 200mm joins or so - and about 100mm up the wall if possible. Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15887 The most likely cause of your timber swelling (parquetry?) is either a plumbing leak or carelessly leaving water on floors after use or both. Without seeing, i am ignoring… 1 3271 Thank you. Do I use timber floorboards for stairs or do people use timber treads? Or is both the same? 6 7258 |
