Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering Re: Beaufloors Laminate vs. Quickstep Laminate 21Mar 08, 2010 3:57 pm I just got a quote of $72 sqm supply and install for eligna today. Re: Beaufloors Laminate vs. Quickstep Laminate 23Mar 31, 2010 6:12 pm I can see in this topic that Largo is apparently more expensive than Eligna? Can anyone give me approximate prices for the different quick step laminate ranges? Please post pics I like the look of "Largo - LPU1288 Natural Varnished Merbau Planks" on their website, but concerned about how much more Largo is going to cost... And it might not look as good in real life. I almost switched to dark laminate because of it! I highly recommend you pop into a flooring place to see a sample of it. The embossing and grain effect looks really convincing. As for Largo, I'm not a fan of bigger, wider planks so I didn't bother checking out that range. I've not seen it in any carpet places either, might be a tough one for you to find a sample of Sometimes I REALLY wish they just had a big warehouse somewhere with a 3x3m square in each laminate that you could go and look at - it would really simplify this process Re: Beaufloors Laminate vs. Quickstep Laminate 26Mar 31, 2010 9:01 pm Oooo, thanks for your opinion Vundaful It sounds great! I will definitely be taking a look at it. I don't prefer the Largo because of the larger board, I actually prefer it because of the colour difference! The colour is less red in the Largo Merbau. If you just like the colour, I think quickstep's other ranges also have the same colour, but just not in such wide or long planks Re: Beaufloors Laminate vs. Quickstep Laminate 28Apr 05, 2010 9:29 pm Thanks Epc I would really appreciate some pics! I might wait to see what yours looks like before making a decision. Reattached the skirting and time to celebrate ! Not for long my nephew spilled a mug of cold coffee on the quick step laminate floor Eligna in my case and it was immediately cleaned and moped up dry. A couple of days later I noticed a lifting bubbling of the edge. I was so shocked that this flooring cannot handle any kind of spillage that for us is normal use. A carpet could have been cleaned to a degree and show less of a problem. So my pride and expensive joy is now looking flawed excuse the pun. I'm trying to make myself cheery about this. I would like to know if this could be faulty stock. I'm not at all happy and even if it is under guarantee the floor is still laid etc. What would a guarantee do ! I cant easily replace the damaged boards and to be honest this kind of spill will happen occasionally and so ...What about the snow and ice in the winter melting slightly, I'm very disappointed to have chosen quick step as a laminate now. We went for the quality product and we dont find it to be appropriate or fit for purpose. Quick Step Laminate Review Re: Beaufloors Laminate vs. Quickstep Laminate 30Sep 19, 2011 8:20 pm If the spill was cleaned up immediately after the spill, as you say, it shouldn't have reacted like that. You treated the spill as they recommend. I have laid 1000s of metres of Quickstep, and others, and have not heard of a 'one spill and it bubbled' problem. I have not even had to do any warranty work on any Quickstep job. It may be a warranty claim, but proving it could be a problem IMO. But they are a reputable company, so i would say you would have more chance of success than many other brands. You can only try. Re: Beaufloors Laminate vs. Quickstep Laminate 31Sep 20, 2011 12:42 am Well if they come in the living room and we drop a half mug of water then mop it up immediately then they come back the following day might proove it. I have seen other laminate floorings that dont have problems, I wonder if it just 'shows' more on a white floor reflecting the light. Thanks for your post it does indeed seem that I may have a bad batch ? I have contacted the suppliers and as of yet no reply. I will post here how I get on. I dont see how it can be fixed.
