We are doing our own floor tiling after handover. Handover is next Thursday
We have had a few tiling quotes, the first tiler we went to looked at our plans and said we would need 127sqm of tiles
But no matter how hard I try, I just can't come up with that amount. With 10% wastage I get around 90sqm.
I've attached our floor plan here
We are using a 600 x 300 tile.
We are tiling the Front and Back Hallway, the Family and Meals area as well as the Kitchen.

never relly on suppliers they are always going to sell yo more rather than less. One thing that crosses my mind is that they included the rumpus room. Unfortunatley I am in the middle of something and dont have time to work it out.
However a quick glance at the size of the house i would have thoughts 90 square meters is enough.

Square. Not brick, just square.
We want him to start the first tile in middle of the front door. So we have one row down the middle of the front hallway, and then I guess everything else would line up from that.

Well that will use extra and require a lot of cutting...
The tile width is 300 plus grout at a min of 3mm 5x 303 = 1515 the front hall width is 1510.
the back hall width is 1000mm.
Hmmm big trouble with designing a house and matching tiles etc need to be considered before construction
Where you are coming from is where you are going to...

We are getting them laid horizontally. 600 x 300 tile but done horizontal. So that the front hall will be 3 tiles, 455, 600, 455.
Then if I have worked it out correctly, the cuts from the front hallway should match up with what is needed on the back hallway.

hey Onc, how long do you think it would take to lay that much tiling?
The tiler has agreed to start literally the moment we get the keys, I have booked the carpet layer for the following Friday, do you think he will get it done in a week?
