It is generally used on carpet and vinyl jobs but occasionally used for tiles or similar. I only give advice on matters that I know to be fact and not speculation. I am in the trade and come accross this type of adhesive on a regular basis. Just take care that's all, it's better to be safe than sorry. I have never seen it used for carpet or vinyl, or in take-ups in my 37 years experience. The only asphalt type adhesive in general use, was for vinyl tiles, but that was back it the 70's. [ those tiles at that time did have asbestos though ] There must have been some very unusual floor laying practices in your area, years ago.
