After searching and searching for a nice dark chocolate timber laminate floor for our house we found 2 options: 1. QuickStep Wenge - about $48sqm 20yr warranty 2. Formica Zambesi - about $29sqm 15yr warranty They are both 8mm thick with the Quickstep being slightly more attractive because of the V-grooves. I cannot justify spending the extra money on the Quickstep, however there is not much information on the Formica nor do I know of anyone who has used it, or how it looks in a large area. Would be good if anyone has heard anything about this product and could shed some light. Building for the 1st time with M3tricon Site Start was 19th July 07. Re: Formica Timber Laminate Flooring - Any Experience?? 2Jul 24, 2007 10:13 am Formica is now owned by Laminex……I have not seen this floor down, but they ….Laminex, say it’s very good. (But don’t they all)
I have seen Quickstep after a few years down…..you need to be careful, it does wear, as does all laminate flooring. Request samples of both flooring to keep for yourself, give them the TEST, see how they go. That should help you make your mind up. Just wondering how you got on with your flooring we are thinking of puting the Formica laminate Luxe Teak color. From people i have spoken to it is a very good without the downside of dints and damage that real timber flooring has. Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 16200 Hi All, I have been dealing with icare for insurance in completing our house after our original builder went bust.
