We have done the same. We have timber floating floors and have found them easy to keep clean. Just a damp mop most times. Sometimes a little timber cleaner sprayed on the floor as mopping. We have scratches on the floor due to having a cat (since passed on), but my motto is we live here, it is not a palace. The scratches are not that big a deal. We have dropped keys, knive/forks etc on the floor and it still looks good unless you want to get critical and look for every scratch. I hardly ever notice them. They are part and parcel of having timber. We will more than likely put timber in our next home. Love the look of it. A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.
