Look, see, get info, take photos and get specs of carpets you like, take notes, and take your time. Don't make impulsive decisions. Has anyone measured your home, and given you a plan of how much carpet you need, showing where seams are? Ash. They generally have a reasonable selection to choose from and rather well priced too. They will be able to give you a quote from your house plans viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! He has owned stores, but now operates as a come-to-you service. Low overheads mean Jim can give pretty good prices. Give him an idea of what you are looking at, and he will bring samples to your home. Jim's number is 0411 540143. I also know a few store owners. Are you leaning towards wool or synthetic? Ash. Good quality synthetics are in the same ball park as many wools. One of the greatest things to happen to wool carpets in recent years is the price parity. A good quality carpet is a good quality carpet. Each fibre type has it's benefits and it's draw backs. There is no one supreme carpet fibre. Each has it's own thing going on! Spend as much as you can afford on your carpet (the laying costs are fixed), you will have it for years and years. Re: Best place to get carpet from? 12Mar 12, 2010 9:06 am Yep! Jim was very helpful and really helped make the carpet decision easy for us Our quote was very good and we ended up going with him for all our floorings. Can't thank Ash enough for putting us on to him 1 10973 Use a product like Equisol's Vitalise to clean the deck then coat with a penetrating timber oil. It will look 10 years younger and add value to your home. Visit for… 1 15762 |
